Digital Self
Inspired by The Matrix and Daniel Shiffman’s ASCII text images, Digital Self is both an interactive experience and a performance piece that envisions a future where personal data shapes digital identities.
As internet users face increasing risks to privacy, this project explores the possibility of a cyborg that mimics individuals by collecting their data. By highlighting the dangers of virtual counterfeiting and digital surveillance, Digital Self raises awareness of how our online presence can be used to empower—but also to manipulate—us. It challenges audiences to reflect on the evolving relationship between identity, technology, and privacy in the digital age.
